Members

The association is composed of farmers, students, teachers, medical, housewife…, who come being dedicated tirelessly to collect and disseminate of the popular and alcardeteño folklore.

 At the end of 60’s, a small group of alcardeteños, encouraged with the idea to compile the folklore of the town, they managed to meet other many fans and thus to form the first group of choruses and dances.

We should recall men and so important women for the group as: Patricio Cañada, known popularly as el Tío Chapurre, Vicente Mota (el Tío Mota), Jesús Novillo (el sastre), la Tía Isidora, la Tía Braulia…, and many more that are faraway of us; also especially to those that were founders of the group and they began to be the ambassadors of the name of Villanueva and its folklore, like Piedad Sanz (Director) and Mª Luisa Escribano de la Torre  (President), who received the Gold Emblem from the Regional Federation in 2002.

Since the web page, we offer ours more sincere recognition and gratitude for all their lifes dedicated to Despertar el Ayer.
